Albrecht Altdorfer (born 1480 and died February 12, 1538 in Regensburg) was a contemporary of Albrecht Dürer. Little is known about the life of this German painter. However It is assumed that he was an apprentice at an atelier of miniaturists, since his early works resemble these techniques. Two of his main influences were Lucas Cranach the Elder and Max Reichlich.
