Annibale Carracci is considered to be the inventor of caricatures, which shows in some of his paintings such as 'The Beaneater'.
Annibale Carracci often workes very closely with his relatives (his brother Agostino and his cousin Ludovico), for example in the fresco's in the Palazzo Farnese. This does mean that sometimes it is very difficult to address the works to the different artists.
