The house of Constant Permeke, which he named 'De Vier Winden' ('The Four Winds'), was bought by the government and has been transformed to the tribute museum of Constant Permeke's art. The Provincial Permeke Museum lies in Jabbeke.
In 1997, the state of Belgium recognized Permeke's achievements by dedicating the 1,000 frank (~ 25 euro) bill to him and his work.
