As a child Pierre-Auguste worked in a porcelain factory in Paris, where he painted designs on china. Renoir also frequently visited the Louvre, where he was allowed to make copies of the famous painting there.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir's son also became famous, but in another "job". Pierre-Auguste's son, named Jean Renoir, has become a famous French film director (filmography). One film was named 'Le Déjeuner sur L'herbe' (Picnic on the grass) which also happens to be the title of a painting from another famous Impressionism master: Edouard Manet.
