“The more frightening the world becomes … the more art becomes abstract.”
Wassily Kandinsky

From the Museum of Bad Art:
A friend of Mr. Winslow spotted the painting and informed the artist that he was featured at the MOBA gallery. Mr. Winslow called the MOBA office last month to tell us that he had far worse at his studio. Mr. Wilson, our Esteemed Curator, visited Winslow’s studio and concurred with his judgement.

The new movie ‘Nightwatching” by the director Peter Greenaway, which will be launched this month at the filmfestivals of Venice and Toronto, is inspired by the artwork The Night Watch by Rembrandt.
An extravagant, exotic and moving look at Rembrandt’s romantic and professional life, and the controversy he created by the identification of a murderer in the painting The Night Watch.
Definitely something to look out for. More on this later.

In Lego. Here’s the original “Waterfall“.

Our unknown painting of the day is “Frogs” by Marjolein Bos. It measures 14 x 14 inches (36 x 36 cm). The concept of her blog is interesting: if people like a painting they can place a bid. Then Marjolein decides whether she accepts it or not. And ofcourse here’s the link to Marjolein Bos’ blog (mainly in Dutch).

With all the other work I had, I haven’t been able to add a new artist to Artinthepicture.com lately. But today I’ve found inspiration in the work above as it was the first artwork in Futurism that I immediately loved. So today I’ve added the Italian 20th century-artist Giacomo Balla.
