I only recently noticed that Willem de Kooning had snuck into the most expensive paintings ever-list, so he really needed his own spot at Artinthepicture.com. In November 2006 this painting sold for $ 137.500.000.
Andrew Wyeth is the newest painter of the Artinthepicture.com art history club. His paintings can only be described as (often quite dark) Realism.

The latest addition to Artinthepicture.com is 18th century Rococo painter Corrado Giaquinto. Once the leading painter of the Rococo movement, Giaquinto now is perhaps the least well known artist of this movement.
Congratulations to painter Jan Steen for a record price for one of his paintings. This one, “Dancing Couple on a Terrace” (original Dutch title: Dansend paar op een terras) sold for € 5.000.000 in the pAn Amsterdam auction.
