Here is a lifesize installation by Jan Fabre of himself with his nose against one of the great master painters. I can’t remember exactly the explanation about this one but it had to do with always being reminded and inspired by the old painters (such as Bosch).

The Belgian artist Jan Fabre is given the opportunity to display his works in The Louvre. The exhibition will be all about how Fabre builds the interaction between the old masters in The Louvre and his own works. The exhibition will open at 04-11-2008 and will run until 07-07-2008.
